Between The Pages

Hi everyone!

Today I'd like to share a little Third Coast project inspired by a trip to the bookstore to pick up my favorite crafty magazines.

They had these awesome little bookmark "Sprouts" on a shelf by the cash (perfect product placement or what!? :)  This gave me the idea to build a bookmark that could fit between the pages and fold in the same way.  The lovely Edie's Butterfly (ES138) seemed like the perfect choice for the job.

Page is clearly marked
Folds when the book is closed
Has a post to help it stand above the pages
Opens to a beautiful butterfly marking your page
To create this project, the butterfly was stamped with Momento Ink and colored with Copic Markers.  The post is a 3/4" strip of paper folded in half and then splayed open at the top (to form a T shape).  The T was then glued to the underside of the wings to form a post.  I thought afterword that it would have been nice to make the post blue and stamp it with green grass or a flower... next time!! :)  This stamp is just beautiful without embellishments, but next time, I might add a few gems, a bit of glitter or a Spica Gel Pen sparkle.... oh the ideas are endless! LOL!  I hope you'll make one of your own and share a link to it in the comments - I'd love to see your version of this!

The green grass and the happy skies
court the fluttering butterflies.
