Live Love Laugh Much

Here is my most recent creation for our crafty night swap challenge. We were to incorporate sheet music and buttons.  This sheet music was taken from a very old book that belonged to my grandmother.  I love the aged look that paper naturally takes on over time :)
Sentiment: Hero Arts
Papers: Various Scraps

I started with a 5x5 piece of black cardstock as the background. I then punched 1.25" squares out of coordinating scraps and the music paper. Starting in an outer corner, work diagonally mounting the squares with a thin border of black between them. The outer pieces are mounted with foam dots. The center 4 music squares are flat mounted and the sentiment is foam mounted above them. Mount a 6x6 piece of sheet music to a piece of cardstock to give it strength and flat mount the black mosaic piece to it with a ribbon in between as a hanger. Finish by adding a button and black pearls.

  1. Love this Val. I too enjoy working with and touching old papers; sheet music, dictionaries and old book pages. You are quite inspiring.
    Thank you.
